In an exciting development, Isuzu Motors South Africa is set to launch the latest addition to its line-up: the all-new D-Max X-Rider.

The model line-up consists of three LS trim grade models, all available in double-cab configuration. The new X-Rider model promises to continue the tradition of standing out with distinctive styling features.

Let’s take a look at why it’s generating a buzz among discerning customers.

Powerful Performance:

Under the hood, the X-Rider is powered by the efficient 1.9-litre 4-cylinder Ddi engine, rather than the flagship 3.0-litre motor. The intercooled turbodiesel engine, known for its fuel efficiency (roughly 5.58 litres per 100 km), ensures a powerful and efficient performance delivering 110 kW of power and 350 Nm of torque. It is available with a six-speed manual or automatic transmission in 4X2 configuration, while the 4X4 model exclusively features the six-speed shift-on-the-fly transmission.

The most recent improvements don’t affect the D-Max range’s maximum wading depth of 800mm, but Isuzu have taken measures to improve underbody protection and enhance aerodynamics.

Safety Features and Model Line-Up:

The X-Rider prioritises safety with an impressive array of standard features, including driver and front passenger airbags, front side airbags, curtain airbags and a driver’s knee airbag, ABS brakes, Electronic Stability Control, traction control, hill start assist, hill descent control and trailer sway control.

All models come equipped with modern features like cruise control, a seven-inch infotainment screen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, a six-speaker audio system, Wi-Fi compatibility, rear USB port, rear park assist, and a rear-view camera.

Exterior Elegance:

The X-Rider is sure to turn heads both on and off the road. It boasts a distinctive black gloss grille adorned with red “Isuzu” lettering, in line with the original X-Rider model. LED headlamps, fog lamps, and taillamps not only improve appearances but also offer maximum visibility at all times of day and night.

Black accents on door handles, B-pillars, side-mirror covers, a tubular sports bar, and a tailboard handle, giving a dynamic and assertive appeal. Roof racks can be accommodated by practical dark grey roof rails, which provide both flair and functionality.

Enhancing the rugged posture are 18-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, grounded by a standard tow bar with a 2.1-tonne tow rating. The model is offered in four exclusive colours, including Splash White, Red Spinel, and Islay Gray. While Mercury Silver will be available from April 2024.

Interior Sophistication:

Step inside, and the X-Rider continues to impress. Red accents throughout the interior, including red contrast stitching on the leather seats and embroidered red ‘X’ logos on the headrests, create a sporty yet sophisticated quality.

The cabin features a striking red divider with the ‘X’ logo, a leather-wrapped, red-stitched steering wheel, and additional red accents on elements such as the door materials, gearshift boot, and hand-brake sheath. Dark interior surfaces and a dark headliner, along with unique X-Rider floor mats, contribute to a cohesive design that sets it apart from other D-Max models.

The upcoming D-Max X-Rider promises a seamless blend of style, performance and adventure. Remember: Every new D-Max comes with a 3-year/100 000 km warranty (with service intervals of 15 000 km) ensuring peace of mind for years to come.

Stay tuned! We’re hoping to have pricing details soon and some units by the end of the first quarter of 2024.
